Tiny Farmhouse Huge Hit at Keystone Auction

Keystone Adventure School and Farm in Edmond holds a special place in our heart. Keystone offers children a loving, fertile ground to learn through creative play and individualized attention. Last week, Keystone hosted an auction at the Devon Boathouse to raise funds for the school. Dubbed “Beyond the Sidewalk,” the auction featured an incredible array of items up for bid including a guitar signed by Vince Gill, stunning sculptures and paintings, and even trips to places such as Park City, Utah and Napa Valley. We may be a bit biased but our favorite auction item of the night was the custom-made Tiny Farmhouse constructed by yours truly, Oklahome!

Tiny Farmhouse Front

The Tiny Farmhouse was modeled after our signature modern farmhouse style and was built with the same attention to detail and love that all of our custom homes receive. A large front porch with weatherproof synthetic lumber invites children into a haven for imagination! We furnished the house with an early 1900s vintage wooden desk and chair, vintage floor globe and an iron school bell. The Low E tilt-out vinyl windows were adorned with wood flower boxes and decorated with autumn pumpkins. Aren’t you wishing you had one of these when you were a kid?!

We hoped to please parents with our Tiny Farmhouse as much as the kids by making it as low-maintenance as possible. The corrugated steel metal roof has Class 4 hail and wind resistant shingles and the Smart-board siding guarantees no need for painting for 15 years!

Autumn

After a great evening of dinner, drinks, and mingling (and possibly even a head-to-head battle over a Star Wars memorabilia package during the silent auction, but we’re not pointing fingers) we anxiously awaited the Tiny Farmhouse, the last item of the night, to come up for bid. When all was said and done the Tiny Farmhouse brought in $7,200 for Keystone!

While the Tiny Farmhouse was a huge hit, we don’t anticipate starting a spinoff business! We can, however, build an adult-sized version for those fun-loving folks who fell in love with our tiny house and its modern farmhouse style. We include ourselves in that category as we modeled it after our own personal home that we will begin building soon!
