Photographing Life

When I grow up I want to be a really good photographer.  I’ve taken lots of classes and practice from time to time but still I’m pretty hum drum.  Nevertheless I love love love photography.  Specifically taking pictures of families, kids and people in love.  Mainly because the photos catch the moments that make up the important aspects of life.  I study photographs from real authentic photographers and by far my very favorite are the photos that may not be technically perfect but that tell a story and seem to be frozen in time.

A was honored to photograph a very special family recently at the Round Barn in Arcadia, Oklahoma.  The photo shoot was Leonore’s (the mom) birthday present.  Leonore and her husband Bruce  have three beautiful daughters, Cynthia, Samantha and Sabrina (S & S are twins).  Leonore and Samantha have been part of our family as Autumn’s nanny’s for well, since before she was actually born.  We seriously couldn’t do life without them.  Samantha takes Autumn on long adventure scavenger hunts in the woods and can’t wait to take her camping and to turn her into a wilderness girl when she grows up.  She never wears shoes and would be the first person I’d ever guess to camp out in below-freezing temps, skydive or hitchhike cross country.

Leonore teaches me so much about how to be a mom.  She has great advice, leads the most close-knit family I know and can organize remote corners of my house that I didn’t even remember were there.

Here are a few of the presentable photos of the Kime’s family photo shoot.  Don’t judge my novice-ness but instead see the love this family has for each other.  I hope it’s apparent.
